Kelly is from San Diego, and grew up in Colorado. He is a musician, songwriter, composer, and a worship leader. He composes electronic, orchestral, and rock music. Kelly is the keyboardist and a vocalist for "Out of Ashes", a Christian band.
Kelly is a member of the Gospel Music Association, the Nashville Songwriter's Association International, and the San Diego Songwriter's Guild.
